The Škoda Rapid is the successor to the Škoda 418/421 Popular Sport . The roadster appeared in 1935 and had a body in a wood / steel mixed construction.

Its water-cooled, side-controlled four-cylinder four-stroke engine had a displacement of 1386 cm³ and an output of 31 hp (23 kW). He accelerated the 1050 kg vehicle up to 100 km / h. The drive force was passed on to the rear wheels via the gearbox flanged to the engine block and a cardan shaft. The front and rear forked skeleton frame of the car consisted of welded steel U-profiles and had a central tube.

In 1938 the model appeared with a new overhead steering four-cylinder four-stroke in-line engine with 1564 cm³ displacement and an output of 42 hp (31 kW). The 1100 kg car reached 110 km / h.

Of the overhead engine models, 579 vehicles were produced in the years 1938–1942. 1945–1947 another 21 copies were made.
