Amsterdam-Centrum is a district of the metropolitan municipality of Amsterdam in the Dutch province of North Holland . The city center ( Dutch Centrum ) had 86,422 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and an area of 8.04 km², of which 1.73 km² is water.
