The Aigle (dt. Aelen ) office was a bailiff in the city and republic of Bern in Switzerland from 1475 . The office of Aigle was divided into the four mandements Aigle , Ollon , Bex and Les Ormonts . The Aigle District became the Aigle District in 1798 and the Mandements became Cercles. With the inclusion of Villeneuve , an additional, fifth cercle was formed, to which the four north-western communities of the Mandement Aigle were added (Chessel, Noville, Rennaz, Roche (VD)).
