BA CityFlyer is a British regional airline based in Manchester and a hub at London City Airport . It is a subsidiary of British Airways .

history

The regional airline was founded in 1991 as Euroworld Airways by Air Europ Express and operated two Shorts 360s from Gatwick to Guernsey , Antwerp and Rotterdam . In 1992 a franchise agreement was signed with British Airways and the company was renamed CityFlyer . In 1993 the agreement was extended and the aircraft cabins were adapted to British Airways standards.

In order to secure the 13 percent share of slots in Gatwick, British Airways took over CityFlyer completely in 1999 and incorporated it into its umbrella brand for regional flights BA Connect .

In 2007 British Airways sold BA Connect to Flybe . The slots at London City Airport and ten Avro RJ 100 machines , which have been operating as CityFlyer from London City since March 2007 , were not sold .
