The winner got 1,000 points more, the points for the following places were also increased in stages, only the losers in the first main round got 50 points less. In the qualification, the rating remained unchanged. In terms of prize money, everything remained the same compared to 2005.

Wildcard round
In the previous year, all 16 qualifiers had to go through a wildcard round against 16 amateurs selected by the Asian Association. As of this year, there were only eight amateurs from China with a wildcard. They played against the lowest placed professionals from the qualification in the world rankings. Two of the local players took the chance to move into the main tournament.
The games of the wildcard round were played on March 20th. Game mode for all games was Best of 9 .
Final roundThe top 16 of the world rankings were set for round 2 and played against the 8 winners of the wildcard round and the 8 other qualifiers from Prestatyn. finalThe final of the two veterans, Mark Williams with 20 and John Higgins with 25 Main Tour titles, was perfectly even. A player has never had more than a frame advantage, four times Higgins took the lead and four times Mark Williams. Both players managed five breaks between 50 and 100 points and only three frames ended in zero. So you inevitably faced each other after 16 frames in the decision frame and that was also contested. In the end, Williams just got the upper hand with 69:44. If you take only the world ranking tournaments, it was the 16th world ranking title for the Welshman, the second in China.
qualificationThe qualifying matches took place in Prestatyn from November 15 to 18, 2015, the year before .
