The Communauté urbaine du Grand Reims is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté urbaine in the Marne department in the Grand Est region . It was founded on January 1, 2017 and comprises 143 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in the city of Reims .

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations

• Communauté de communes de la Vallée de la Suippe ,
• Communauté de communes des Rives de la Suippe ,
• Communauté de communes Wetten-Bourgogne ,
• Communauté de communes du Nord Champenois ,
• Communauté de communes Fismes Ardre et Vesle ,
• Communauté de communes Champagne Vesle and
• Communauté de communes Vesle et Coteaux de la Montagne de Reims .

At the same time, 18 communities of the abandoned Communauté de communes Ardre et Châtillonnais joined the local association.
