Pontfaverger-Moronvilliers is a French commune with 1,753 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Reims and the canton of Mourmelon-Vesle et Monts de Champagne (until 2015: canton Bein-Nauroy ). The inhabitants are called Pontfabriciens .

Pontfaverger-Moronvilliers is located about 17 kilometers east-northeast of Reims on the Suippe . Pontfaverger-Moronvilliers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aussonce in the north, Bétheniville in the east, Saint-Hilaire-le-Petit in the east and southeast, Saint-Martin-l'Heureux in the southeast, Prosnes in the south, bein-Nauroy in the southwest and Selles in the West.

history

Moronvilliers was completely destroyed in the First World War. In October 1915, the German troops used poison gas here.
