history
Tinqueux can be identified as a place for the first time in 975. While a settlement can be proven as early as the late Neolithic and probably also in the Gallo-Roman period there was a small town outside the gates of Reims and Durocortorum . From the 12th century until the French Revolution in 1789, Tinqueux belonged to the county of Champagne.
After the community was massively destroyed in the two world wars, it experienced a real boom due to the reconstruction.
