Critics' Choice Television Award / Best Actress in a Drama Series

The Critics' Choice Television Award in the category Best Actress in a Drama Series (Original name: Best Actress in a Drama Series ) is one of the awards , held annually in the United States by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association , a federation awarded by television critics. It is aimed at actresses that an outstanding performance in a leading role in a drama - TV series have provided. The category was launched in 2011. The winners will be determined in a secret vote by the association's television critics.

History and records

Since it was first awarded, the Broadcast Television Journalists Association has awarded a total of eight awards in the Best Actress in a Drama Series category to seven different actresses. The first to win was Julianna Margulies , who was honored in 2011 for her role as Alicia Florrick in Good Wife . The last winner so far was Elisabeth Moss , who was honored in 2018 for her role as June Osborne in The Handmaid's Tale - The Maid's Report .

The oldest winner at the age of 45 was the American Julianna Margulies ( Good Wife ) in 2011 , and the oldest nominated actress at the age of 66 in 2018 was the American Christine Baranski ( The Good Fight ). The youngest winner at the age of 27 was Canadian Tatiana Maslany ( Orphan Black ) in 2013 , and the youngest actress to be nominated at the age of 25 was the American Emmy Rossum ( Shameless ).
