Critics' Choice Television Award / Best Actress in a Comedy Series

The Critics' Choice Television Award in the category Best Actress in a Comedy Series (Original name: Best Actress in a Comedy Series ) is one of the awards , held annually in the United States by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association , a federation awarded by television critics. It is aimed at actresses that an outstanding performance in a leading role in a comedy - TV series have provided. The category was launched in 2011. The winners will be determined in a secret vote by the association's television critics.

History and records

Since it was first awarded, the Broadcast Television Journalists Association has awarded a total of ten awards in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category to nine different actresses. The first to win was Tina Fey , who was honored in 2011 for her role as Liz Lemon in 30 Rock . The last winner so far was Phoebe Waller-Bridge , who was honored in 2020 for her role as Fleabag in Fleabag . The number of nominations was six from the first award, and eight in 2020.

The oldest winner at the age of 53 was the American Julia Louis-Dreyfus ( Veep - The Vice President ) in 2014 , and the oldest nominated actress at 55 years of age in 2016 was also the American Julia Louis-Dreyfus ( Veep - The Vice President ). The youngest winner at the age of 27 in 2018 was the American Rachel Brosnahan ( The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ), the youngest nominated actress at the age of 20 in 2012 was the American Ashley Rickards ( Awkward - My so-called life ).
