mayor

Nobody ran for the office of mayor in the 2019 local elections. Therefore, the task of making the election fell to the new local council. Thereupon Jan Weindorf was elected mayor by the local council on October 24, 2019.

coat of arms

Esselborn coat of arms
Blazon : "In silver over a green branch with a red rose, a red plow loop."
Justification of the coat of arms: The oldest S (IGEL) DES COURT ZV ESSELBORN from the 16th century (copy from 1612) contains the plow loop with rose, like the second COURT SIGEL IN ESSELBORN 1707, while the ESSELBORN (ER) BRIEF INSIGEL 1784 has the same loop without a rose shows. To explain the rose, August Menninger refers to a Rosengarten corridor in Esselborn, but it is more likely to be a question of the rose as a court symbol, for which it is typical that it is missing in the letter seal. Illustration and description by Menninger. Brilmayer erroneously gives the coat of arms of the Lords of Strahlberg, the medieval local lords, as the municipal coat of arms.
