Mauchenheim is a municipality in the Alzey-Worms district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Alzey-Land association.
geography
Mauchenheim is about five kilometers from the source of the Selz ( Orbis ) stream . The Selz flows into the Rhine in Ingelheim . The municipality borders the city of Alzey in the northeast .
The residential areas Hof Neber and Kalbsmühle (also: Schmahle Mühle) also belong to Mauchenheim .
history
The first documentary mention of the place took place on July 8, 867, when King Ludwig the German (around 806-876) owned the Cyriakusstift zu Neuhausen property and 13 servants in the brands and villas Flörsheim ( Flaridesheim ), Albisheim ( Albolfesheim ) and Mauchenheim ( Mouuenheim ) gave.
The Cistercian monastery of Sion had existed on site since the 13th century . This was lifted as part of the Reformation in 1566. The Cistercian convent Paradies (Mauchenheim) was even older . Mauchenheim belonged to the Electoral Palatinate or from 1777 to Electoral Palatinate Bavaria , became French from 1798 to 1814, and then came to the Bavarian province of Rheinpfalz . During the district reform in 1969, Mauchenheim moved from the former Kirchheimbolanden district to the newly created Alzey-Worms district .
