Gourdon is a French municipality with 904 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Autun (until 2017 Chalon-sur-Saône ) and is part of the canton Blanzy (until 2015 Mont-Saint-Vincent ). The inhabitants are called Gourdonnais .

Gourdon is about thirty kilometers southeast of Autun . Gourdon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marigny in the north, Mont-Saint-Vincent in the east, Mary in the southeast, Le Rousset in the south, Saint-Roumain-sous-Gourdon in the west and southwest, Saint-Vallier in the west and northwest and Blanzy in the northwest .
