The men's 3000 m obstacle course at the 1982 European Athletics Championships was held on September 7 and 10, 1982 in the Olympic Stadium in Athens .

European champion became the EM -Second of 1978 Patriz Ilg . He won ahead of Poland's Bogusław Mamiński . Bronze went to the Spaniard Domingo Ramón .
