The women's 10,000-meter run at the 2002 European Athletics Championships was held on August 6, 2002 in Munich's Olympic Stadium.
The European champion was the British vice world champion from 1999 Paula Radcliffe , who won a speed race and set a new European record. Like four days later over 5000 meters , the Irish defending champion Sonia O'Sullivan finished second. She had already won several medals on other routes. Bronze went to the Russian Lyudmila Biktaschewa .
The race was so fast that there were four other national records in addition to the European record.

European champion Paula Radcliffe improved the existing EM record on August 6th by 11.26 seconds to 30: 01.09 minutes, thereby setting a new European record.

As usual on the longest track, there was no preliminary round, all 29 participants started in a joint final.
