The men's 100-meter run at the 1993 World Athletics Championships was held on August 14th and 15th, 1993 in the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium in Stuttgart .

In this competition, the sprinters from the United States won two medals, silver and bronze. World Champion was British Olympic champion in 1992 , Olympic silver medalist from 1988 and two-time European champion ( 1986 / 1990 ) Linford Christie . Before the second of the Pan American Games in 1991, he won Andre Cason , who was a member of the victorious US American World Cup relay over 4 × 100 meters in 1991 and here in Stuttgart . Bronze went to the 1992 Olympic third-party Dennis Mitchell , who, like Cason in 1991 and here in Stuttgart, ran the 4 × 100 meters in his country's victorious relay.

In the final on August 15, the British World Champion Linford Christie set a new European record with 9.87 seconds. He missed the World Cup record and, in this case, the world record by just a hundredth of a second.
