List of members of the Vorarlberg state parliament (XXIII legislative period)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of members of the Vorarlberg state parliament (XXIII legislative period) lists all members of the Vorarlberg state parliament during the XXIII. Legislative period. The state parliament officiated in the XXIII. Legislative period from November 6, 1979 until the deputies of the XII. Legislative period on November 6, 1984.

Of the 36 MPs, the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) had 22 MPs after the 1979 state elections . 10 MPs were from the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), 4 from the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). Since there were only minor changes in the distribution of votes compared to the 1974 state election , the distribution of mandates remained unchanged compared to the previous period. Governor Herbert Keßler was re-elected in the first session of the state parliament and continued his term of office with the cabinet of the state government Keßler IV .

A novelty occurred in the 2nd Landtag session in 1979, when the speeches of the Landtag session were broadcast on ORF for the first time . In addition, in 1981 the Vorarlberg state parliament revoked the mandate for the first time, which concerned Walter Renner .

Functions

Landtag President

According to the state constitution, the right to the position of the state parliament president fell, unless the state parliament groups agreed otherwise, to the party with the strongest vote and thus to the ÖVP. In the first session of the Landtag on November 6, 1979, Martin Purtscher was re-elected President of the Landtag. In the written election he received 34 of 36 votes cast, two of which were invalid. The election of the vice-presidents of the state parliament took place on the same day according to the state assembly, including the president according to the principles of proportional representation, whereby the ÖVP had the right to propose the office of the first vice-president and the SPÖ the right to propose the office of the second vice-president. Subsequently, Friedrich Heinzle (ÖVP) was elected 1st Vice President of the State Parliament with 33 votes, while Karl Falschlunger (SPÖ) received 32 votes in his election as 2nd State Parliament Vice President.

Club chairmen

As in the previous period, Ignaz Battlogg continued to work as chairman of the ÖVP state parliament club. After his death on August 22, 1981, Herbert Sausgruber took over this office on September 29 . In the SPÖ, Ernst Winder held the office of chairman of the state parliament, although he had already taken over in 1974. In the FPÖ, Alfred Eß was the club chairman until he left on February 15, 1983, after which Dietger Mader took over on the same day .
