List of film adaptations of the works of Georges Simenon

This list contains all cinema or television films based on the works of the Belgian writer Georges Simenon . By 2010, a total of 65 feature films and 64 international television productions were made, including series that were in some cases produced over years and decades. The series about Commissioner Maigret of French television with Jean Richard (88 episodes from 1967 to 1990), the subsequent film adaptations with Bruno Cremer (54 episodes from 1991 to 2005) and the BBC series with Rupert Davies (52 episodes from 1960 ) remained the most extensive until 1963). Other well-known Maigret actors were Jean Gabin , Gino Cervi , Michael Gambon and Heinz Rühmann . From 2016 to 2017, Rowan Atkinson played the commissioner in a British series. In addition to Maigret, Simenon's character of the "little doctor" Jean Dollent was also implemented in television series, for example in 1974 by ZDF as The Little Doctor .
