Track list

For the first time an EP was released that only contained new material for British buyers. It was also the first EP on which Ringo Starr appeared as a singer. In the US, Capitol Records distributed the four pieces on two albums. The songs from page 1 of the EP were used for The Beatles' Second Album , the songs from page 2 for Something New .

To put together the EP, the Beatles used three classic rock 'n' roll pieces that were part of their early live repertoire. There was also an early Lennon composition that had previously been published by another artist and was first recorded for this EP by the Beatles.
