The Beatles' Greatest ( english The largest of the Beatles ), the eighth published in Germany album of the British band The Beatles . It was released on June 18, 1965. It is the Beatles' second compilation album in Germany. The album was not released in the UK and USA .
Emergence
One month after the release of the compilation album Beatles '65 , a greatest hits album with 16 Beatles singles released in Germany and distributed by Odeon came out in Germany . The singles released up to then are not included on the album:

- Do You Want to Know a Secret / Little Child ,
- I'll Cry Instead / A Taste of Honey ,
- Tell Me Why / If I Fell ,
- Matchbox / I Saw Her Standing There ,
- Slow Down / I'm Happy Just to Dance with You und
- Kansas City - Hey Hey Hey Hey / I Don't Want to Spoil the Party .
The album The Beatles' Greatest contains a slightly longer version of All My Loving (including a hi-hat intro by Ringo Starr) and a stereo mix of I Want to Hold Your Hand , which was previously unreleased and for the album on June 8, 1965 was remixed by Norman Smith at Abbey Road Studios . I Feel Fine was mixed in a duophonic version ( fake stereo) and has a longer outro than previously published versions.
The album was also released in the Netherlands in the same month . In 1978 the album was pressed onto gold, purple, orange and yellow vinyl in the Netherlands. In Israel, the album was sold in 1969/70 with a different cover design, it shows a drawing of the four Beatles as older men. The Beatles' Greatest album was released in Japan in 1978.
The Beatles' Greatest was only distributed in a stereo version in Germany until the 1980s.

The Beatles' Greatest album has not yet been legally released on CD .

- In Denmark , a greatest hits album under the title The Beatles' Hottest Hits with its own cover design (the so-called "Eskimo cover") and its own track list was released in April 1965 in mono.
- In Sweden , the Danish album The Beatles 'Hottest Hits was released in April 1965 in mono under the title The Beatles' Greatest Hits with its own cover design.
- In Australia , a greatest hits album under the title The Beatles Greatest Hits Volume 1 with its own cover design and separate track list was released in August 1966 in mono (from February 1968 in stereo). The Beatles Greatest Hits Volume 2 followed in February 1967 , also with its own cover design and its own track list, and it was released in stereo and mono.
