Emergence

One month after the release of the compilation album Beatles '65 , a greatest hits album with 16 Beatles singles released in Germany and distributed by Odeon came out in Germany . The singles released up to then are not included on the album:

The album The Beatles' Greatest contains a slightly longer version of All My Loving (including a hi-hat intro by Ringo Starr) and a stereo mix of I Want to Hold Your Hand , which was previously unreleased and for the album on June 8, 1965 was remixed by Norman Smith at Abbey Road Studios . I Feel Fine was mixed in a duophonic version ( fake stereo) and has a longer outro than previously published versions.

The album was also released in the Netherlands in the same month . In 1978 the album was pressed onto gold, purple, orange and yellow vinyl in the Netherlands. In Israel, the album was sold in 1969/70 with a different cover design, it shows a drawing of the four Beatles as older men. The Beatles' Greatest album was released in Japan in 1978.

The Beatles' Greatest was only distributed in a stereo version in Germany until the 1980s.

Republication

The Beatles' Greatest album has not yet been legally released on CD .

Cover design

The cover photo was taken by Robert Freeman . It shows the four Beatles on October 24, 1964 in Hyde Park , London .
