Yesterday ( English Yesterday ) is a published on March 4, 1966 EP of the British rock band The Beatles . It was the eleventh EP by the Beatles to be released on Parlophone (catalog number GEP 8948). All four tracks of the EP come from the album Help! . The EP was only released in mono .

The EP Yesterday was released seven months after the album Help! in August 1965. In the meantime, the follow-up album Rubber Soul was released in December 1965 , so that the EP Yesterday was no longer released soon.

On September 14, 1965, Act Naturally / Yesterday (number 6 in the charts) was the third single from the album Help! . In the US, the single Yesterday / Act Naturally was released on September 13, 1965 and reached number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 . In Great Britain, Yesterday was only released ten and a half years later, on March 8, 1976, as a separate single with the single B-side I Should Have Known Better .

On March 12, 1966, the EP entered the British EP charts, and Yesterday stayed in the EP charts for a total of 13 weeks, including six weeks at number 1. In the singles charts, the EP could not place.

Each of the Beatles acted as a singer on the four songs of the EP.

Re-releases

The EP Yesterday was pressed into the 1970s. In December 1981, the EP was released as part of the The Beatles EPs Collection box set , which included all UK EPs. On May 26, 1992, this set was released with the slightly changed title The Beatles Compact Disc EP. Collection as CD edition.
