The Melmmoor / Kuhdammoor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Esterwegen and Bockhorst in the combined municipality of Nordhümmling in the Emsland district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 212 is around 1280  hectares . It is completely part of the EU bird sanctuary "Esterweger Dose". In the west it borders directly on the nature reserve " Leegmoor ". The “ Esterweger Dose ” nature reserve connects to the north of the coastal canal . The area has been a nature reserve since July 10, 1992. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Emsland.

The nature reserve, which consists of four parts, is located south of the coastal canal near Esterwegen. In the nature reserve, a former bog area, in addition to grassland and fallow areas also wiedervernässte find bogs. Parts of the nature reserve are used for forestry and agriculture. A moor adventure trail is located north of Esterwegen in a rewetted moor area . Along the way, explanations on the subject of moor are given at adventure stations and information boards. The cycle route around the "Esterweger Dose" also leads through the nature reserve "Melmmoor / Kuhdammoor"

The nature reserve borders in part on the coastal canal in the north. The western part of the nature reserve borders in part on federal highway 401 in the north . State road 30 cuts through it northwest of Esterwegen . The eastern part of the nature reserve borders on county roads 116 and 150.
