Ludwig van Beethoven : The completely deaf composer conducts the world premiere of his 9th symphony on May 7th together with Michael Umlauf in the Theater am Kärntnertor in Vienna . The vocal parts are performed by Henriette Sontag (soprano), Caroline Unger (alto), Anton Haizinger (tenor) and Joseph Seipelt (baritone). The work provokes frenetic cheers from the audience. Other works by Beethoven in 1824 are: Six Bagatelles for piano op. 126; Bundeslied - Lied op.124
