- March 26th : The Austrian composer Franz Schubert gives his first and only public concert in the pub of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna .
- April 7th : The Genoese Teatro Carlo Felice opens with Vincenzo Bellini's opera Bianco e Fernando .
