history
Until the church is planted
The Bronze Age barrows near the wasteland of Einkreuth point to an early settlement of the area. A remarkable Bruch ore deposit from the early Hallstatt period around 1000 BC. BC succeeded in 1911 near Winklsaß.
Neufahrn was first mentioned in 1123 as newfar . At that time it was a fiefdom of the Counts of Kirchberg, who held it until they died out around 1223. Thereafter, the Bavarian duke and in 1318 a Hans Göttlinger ruled the place. As early as the first half of the 12th century, the hazel basins appear to be partially owned by Neufahrn, and around 1425 they fully owned the noble seat and the Hofmark. In 1448 Neufahrn passed from possession of the Haselbecken to Duke Heinrich the Rich . From 1438 a chaplain exercised pastoral care in the Neufahrn branch. Neufahrn has only been an independent parish since 1924.
The Hueber family, who came from the Lower Bavarian civil servant nobility, acquired the castle property and the Hofmark in 1490 and sold it on April 29, 1510 to Sigmund Kraus zu Münchsdorf, Kastner in Landshut and Hofmeister von Seligenthal. During the reign of Sigmund Kraus (1510–1558), the new renaissance castle was built, which is still a landmark of Neufahrn today. An epitaph in the parish church shows the family coat of arms, which provided the template for today's municipal coat of arms. His descendants sold the castle and the Hofmark on September 23, 1558 to the Haunsperger . During the Thirty Years' War Neufahrn was sacked by Swedish troops, especially in 1632, later famine and plague ravaged the place.
In 1698 Neufahrn passed to Count Emmanuel von Arco , but soon became a Kommungut through inheritance and contract that was shared by several families, including the Counts of Königsfeld, who sold their share in whole or in part. Neufahrn belonged to the Landshut Rent Office and the Kirchberg Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria. The Counts of Toerring owned an open Hofmark here (it is a fiefdom of the Mallersdorf monastery ).
In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818.
19th and 20th centuries
Around 1820, the leading Bavarian Minister of State, Count Montgelas , owned Neufahrn Castle. After the Kirchberg nursing court was dissolved , Neufahrn belonged to the Rottenburg district court until 1874 , then to the Mallersdorf district office .
When the Bayerische Ostbahn built the route from Munich to Regensburg, Neufahrn was connected to the rail network on December 12, 1859 with the Neufahrn (Niederbay) station . When the shortcut route Neufahrn – Eggmühl – Obertraubling was put into operation on August 6, 1873, Neufahrn received the status of a railway junction, as the line branched off towards Straubing.
Since the district reform , which came into force on July 1, 1972, Neufahrn i. NB on the Landshut district.
