Jamaica took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in the Chinese capital Beijing with 50 athletes in four sports.

Since 1948 it was the 15th participation of a Jamaican team in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

Sprinter Veronica Campbell-Brown carried the Jamaican flag during the opening ceremony in the National Stadium .

Medals

With five won gold, four silver and two bronze medals, the Jamaican team finished 15th in the medals table .

Medalist

The most successful athlete in Jamaica was the sprinter Usain Bolt : he won three gold medals.
