Perthes (also: Perthes-en-Gâtinais ) is a French municipality with 1,995 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Fontainebleau and the canton of Fontainebleau (until 2015: canton of Perthes ). The inhabitants are called Perthois .

geography

Perthes is located about 14 kilometers southwest of Melun on the river École . The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park .

The municipality is surrounded by Saint-Sauveur-sur-École and Boissise-le-Roi in the north, Villiers-en-Bière in the north-east, Chailly-en-Bière in the east, Fleury-en-Bière in the south, Cély in the south and south-west and Saint-Germain-sur-École to the west.
