Royal Holloway is a college of the University of London . In the international Times Higher Education Ranking 2013-2014 it was ranked 102nd.

The Royal Holloway has three faculties and 18 academic departments. Around 9,000 people from over 100 countries study at the facility.

history

The Royal Holloway was founded in 1879 by the entrepreneur and philanthropist Thomas Holloway (1800-1883) and admitted to the University of London in 1900; the institution is located in Egham , around 30 km from London. In 1886 Queen Victoria's University opened to young women. Men were not admitted to university until 1965.

In 1985 the Royal Holloway College was merged with Bedford College and has been officially called Royal Holloway and Bedford New College since then , but continues to appear in public under its original name.
