The Walk of Fame Europe

The Walk of Fame Europe is a tourist attraction in Rotterdam, the Netherlands . It is located on the Schiedamsedijk near the Maritime Museum Rotterdam and the Buitenmuseum . Numerous well-known personalities from the show industry and public life have a memorial site there, where their hand or footprints in cement can be seen.

The memorial is officially a bit misleading as the European equivalent of the Walk of Fame in Hollywood , but in terms of furnishings it corresponds more to the commemorative plaques in the entrance area of Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, which are not directly related to the Walk of Fame there.

The so-called Starboulevard was opened on May 5, 1990 by Johnny Grant , who at the time was Honorary Mayor of Hollywood who was in charge of the Walk of Fame there. The first of the left box - Olympic champion Bep van Klaveren imprints of his hand and his fist in the cement. In the meantime, more than 225 people have immortalized themselves.

In contrast to the role model in Hollywood, musicians predominate in Rotterdam.
