The Westring residential area in Wuppertal is one of nine quarters in the Vohwinkel district .
geography
The 2.29 km² residential area extends southeast of the center of Vohwinkel in an east-west direction between the Düsseldorf – Elberfeld railway line , Haaner Strasse, the eponymous road Westring to the north and federal motorway 46 to the south. In the west it borders on the city of Haan , the eastern border at the Rottscheidt and Stackenberg districts touches the Vohwinkel city forest east of the Ehrenhainstraße cemetery .
The area of the quarter was not built on until after the city of Wuppertal was founded in 1929. The settlement on Bremkamp , founded in 1939, forms the center of the quarter with the Protestant Church on Bremkamp and the Catholic Church of St. Ludger . The infrastructure includes 2 primary schools.
The quarter is relatively loosely built, in the extreme south-west the area around the Wibbeltrath and Bolthausen courts is used for agriculture, four allotment gardens along the streams and one Catholic and one Protestant cemetery form extensive green areas. The small Düssel , Krudtscheider Bach , Bremkampbach and Kinderbuschbach brooks that arise in the residential area drain into the Düssel , Rottscheidter and Stackenberger Bach to the east of the Wupper .
The area of the Vohwinkel marshalling yard on the Düsseldorf – Elberfeld railway line is to be rededicated as a commercial area in the future.
