Artvin is a province of Turkey on the Black Sea . Its capital is the city of the same name Artvin . It borders on the provinces of Ardahan , Rize and Erzurum , and to the north on Georgia . Together with Rize, Artvin formed the Vilâyet Çoruh in 1933 . In 1956 this vilayet was dissolved again and the two original areas emerged again.
