Auto GP season 2013

The 2013 Auto GP season was the 15th season of the racing series, which was held for the fourth time under the name Auto GP . The season started on March 23rd in Monza and ended on October 6th in Brno .

technical changes

The Lola B05 / 52 car GP chassis was completely redesigned for the 2013 season. Series organizer Coloni carried out the revision together with the Argentinian vehicle designer Enrique Scalabroni , who developed winning Formula 1 vehicles for Williams and Ferrari in the 80s and 90s .

All pilots drove with the Lola chassis B05 / 52 , engines from Zytek and tires from Kumho .

Racing calendar

With eight race weekends, the Auto GP racing calendar included one more event than last year. While the Auto GP held every race as part of the WTCC weekends last season , in the 2013 season only the first three events took place together with the WTCC. The races in Valencia , Portimão , Curitiba and Sonoma have been canceled. Along with the partial separation from the WTCC, the events in America were canceled, so that the calendar included seven races in Europe and one in Africa .

In the second half of the season, the following newly added tracks were driven: the Silverstone Circuit, the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello , the Nürburgring , Donington Park and the Automotodrom Brno . At Silverstone they drove as part of the Blancpain Endurance Series , in Mugello at the ACI Racing Weekend , at the Nürburgring as part of the DTM , in Donington as part of the Superstars Series and in Brno as part of the ETC Cup .
