Beatles for Sale ( English Beatles for sale ) is an EP released on April 6, 1965 by the British rock band The Beatles . It was the eighth EP by the Beatles to be released on Parlophone (catalog number GEP 8931). All four tracks on the EP come from the Beatles for Sale album . The EP was only released in mono .

The EP Beatles for Sale was released four months after the album Beatles for Sale was released in December 1964.

On April 10, 1965, the EP rose to number 11 in the British EP charts, and Beatles for Sale stayed in the EP charts for 47 weeks, including six weeks at number 1. In the British singles charts, the EP could not be place.

While no single was released from the Beatles for Sale album in Great Britain , the record company Odeon in Germany decided on the singles No Reply / Eight Days a Week (February 10, 1965 / 5th place) and Rock 'n' Roll Music / I'm a Loser (February 22, 1965 / 2nd place) to be published. In March 1965, one month before the British release, the stereo EP The Beatles' Music (catalog number Odeon SMO 41 668), which contains the two singles, was released in Germany and then in April 1965 in Great Britain under the title Beatles for Sale appeared in a different cover .

On June 8, 1965, the third single was released in Germany with Kansas City / Hey Hey Hey Hey / I Don't Want to Spoil the Party (18th place). In the USA, the album Beatles for Sale was not released, the single Eight Days a Week / I Don't Want to Spoil the Party , released on February 15, 1965, but reached number 1 on the US charts.

Cover design

The cover was identical to that of the album Beatles for Sale with the exception of the lettering . On the back of the cover is an accompanying text from Tony Barrow, the Beatles' press officer.

Re-releases

The EP Beatles for Sale was pressed into the 1970s. In December 1981, the EP was released as part of the The Beatles EPs Collection box set , which included all UK EPs. On May 26, 1992, this set was released with the slightly changed title The Beatles Compact Disc EP. Collection as CD edition.
