Charmes-la-Grande is a French commune with 156 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Dizier , to the canton of Joinville (until 2015: canton of Doulevant-le-Château ) and to the community association Bassin de Joinville en Champagne . The inhabitants are called Charmessans .

Charmes-la-Grande is located about 27 kilometers south of Saint-Dizier on the banks of the Blaiseron River . Charmes-la-Grande is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Morancourt in the north, Mathons in the northeast, Brachay in the east, Charmes-en-l'Angle in the south and southeast, Doulevant-le-Château in the west and southwest and Baudrecourt in the northwest.
