Saudron is about 30 kilometers southeast of the city center of Saint-Dizier . Saudron is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bure in the north and east, Gillaumé in the south and south-east, Échenay in the south and south-west, Pansey in the west and south-west and Effincourt in the west and north-west.

One of the four French centers for research into a repository or interim storage facility for high or medium level radioactive waste is located towards the neighboring municipality of Bure .
