Hallignicourt is a French commune with 285 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Dizier and to the municipal association of Saint-Dizier, Der et Blaise, founded in 2016 . The residents are called Hallignicourtois .
geography
Hallignicourt is six kilometers west of the city center of Saint-Dizier and about 75 kilometers northeast of Troyes on the eastern edge of the Champagne sèche , the "dry Champagne". The 11.86 km² municipal area has hardly any height differences and is characterized by arable and pasture areas in the southern part and a forest in the north ( Forêt Domaniale de la Garenne-de-Perthes ). About eight kilometers southwest of Hallignicourt is the largest reservoir in France, the Lac du Der-Chantecoq . In the south, the Marne forms part of the municipal boundary ; the Canal entre Champagne et Bourgogne , which runs parallel to the Marne in a west-east direction, divides Hallignicourt into two halves. The hamlet of La Bobotte belongs to the municipality of Hallignicourt . Hallignicourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Eulien ( Marne department ) and Villiers-en-Lieu in the north, Saint-Dizier in the east, Laneuville-au-Pont in the south, Ambrières (Marne department) in the west and Sapignicourt (Marne department) and Perthes in the northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure
Between Hallignicourt and Saint-Dizier, Base aérienne 113 Saint-Dizier-Robinson is an important base of the French air force .
Six farms are located in Hallignicourt (grain cultivation, cattle breeding).
The Route nationale 4 , which is partially developed like a motorway, leads through Hallignicourt from Paris to Strasbourg . At the station the nearby town of Saint-Dizier , the railway lines meet Blesme-Haussignémont-Chaumont and Revigny-Saint-Dizier .
