Chancesay is a commune in France , in the arrondissement of Saint-Dizier , in the west of the Haute-Marne department , in the Grand Est region . The municipality belongs to the canton of Saint-Dizier-3 .

Chanceay is the northernmost municipality in the Haute-Marne department. It has 1,087 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is located about 4.5 kilometers northeast of the city center of Saint-Dizier , on the small river Ornel , which flows into the Marne .
