The Condor is a light 4x4 armored vehicle based on the Unimog . It was manufactured since 1978 by Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH or what was then Henschel Wehrtechnik GmbH as the successor to the UR-416 . The successor Condor 2 was sold from 2004 onwards based on the Unimog 5000 . The largest operator is the Malaysian armed forces , but they want to put the Condor out of service in the next few years. In Malaysia they are currently used in conjunction with the amphibious 6 × 6 wheeled armored vehicle SIBMAS . A converted type of the Condor was presented by the Malaysian armaments manufacturer Deftech at the DSA 2018 trade fair.
