The KrAZ Spartan ( Ukrainian КрАЗ Спартан ) is a protected vehicle that serves as a personnel carrier for up to six people. This is a license production of the STREIT Group Spartan by the Ukrainian vehicle manufacturer KrAZ .

technology

The protected wheeled vehicle is based on the 4 × 4 chassis of the Ford F-Series F550. The KrAZ Spartan has a mass of 8.8 tons and is powered by a Ford V8 diesel engine with a turbocharger, which has a displacement of 6.7 liters and develops 221 kW (300 hp) at 2800 rpm. A bulletproof windshield is designed to protect the crew from 7.62mm projectiles. The crew compartment is accessible via a door at the rear of the vehicle, and there is room for a maximum of six soldiers. In October 2016, a self-propelled version of the KrAZ Spartan was presented at the Arms and Security trade fair , which was developed together with the Ukrainian company Infocom Ltd Automation .

Armament

The KrAZ Spartan can be equipped with various weapons, such as: B. with a heavy 12.7 mm machine gun or a 40 mm grenade launcher in an armored dome. Some Spartans of Ukraine are armed with the Sarmat remote-controlled weapon station, armed with a 12.7mm machine gun and four Korsar anti-tank missiles made by Ukraine.
