División de Honor (chess) 2007

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The División de Honor (chess) 2007 was the 13th season of the División de Honor and at the same time the 51st Spanish team championship in chess , it was played with twelve teams. Champion was the defending champion CA Linex-Magic Mérida, from the Primera División were CCA CajaCanarias Santa Cruz, CA Llanera Alzira, CE Foment Martinenc Barcelona and CA La Caja Las Palmas. In purely sporting terms, Santa Cruz was the only newcomer to stay in the league, while the other promoted teams would have been relegated together with UGA Barcelona. However, since CA Intel-Tiendas UPI Mancha Real withdrew their team, CE Foment Martinenc Barcelona was still relegated as the best relegated team.

For the team squads of the participating clubs, see Team Squad of the División de Honor (Chess) 2007 .

mode

The twelve participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament in two preliminary groups with six teams . In both groups, the first two qualified for the finals, while the last two were relegated to the Primera División. The game was played on six boards, the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat) and then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point) decided the placement for a tie, no point for a loss). The final round was played in the knockout system , with third place also being played out.
