As in the previous season, eleven teams took part in the game, with the Slovak U20 national team again playing out of valuation as HK Orange 20. The Slovak champion was for the first time in the club's history the HC 05 Banská Bystrica , which defeated last year's champion HK Nitra with 4-1 wins in the best-of-seven series in the playoff final . The MHC Martin stopped the game after the end of the season and was thus determined to be relegated.
