The Schleswig-Holstein regional league was played for the sixth time in the 1952/53 season and formed the substructure of the first-class Oberliga Nord until the 1962/63 season. For the first time, the two teams placed first were allowed to take part in the promotion round to the first-class Oberliga Nord, while the teams in the last three places had to relegate to the district league.

Compared to the 1951/52 season , the composition of the league changed as follows: VfB Lübeck was able to prevail in the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord, while no club from Schleswig-Holstein had to relegate. The two relegated Eutin 08 and ATSV Lübeck had left the regional league and were replaced by the three promoted Olympia Neumünster , SV Friedrichsort and TSV Lägerdorf .

Season course

As in the previous year, VfR Neumünster secured the championship and thus participation in the promotion round. The LBV Phoenix was also allowed to take part in second place. However, both missed the climb.

The Heider SV represented the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association in the German Amateur Championship in 1953 , he will be in the first round against Homberger SV , Eintracht Nordhorn and Borussia Fulda retired.
