The 2015/16 season of the Regionalliga Nordost was the fourth season of the Regionalliga Nordost , since the Regionalliga has been played in five seasons as the fourth highest division. It was opened on July 24, 2015 with the game between FSV Optik Rathenow and Berlin AK 07 and ended on May 21, 2016. For the first time since the reintroduction of the Regionalliga Nordost as part of the reform for the 2012/13 season, 18 instead of 16 teams took part Game operation.

Promotion and relegation regulation
Promotion to the 3rd league For promotion to the 3rd league, the champions FSV Zwickau qualified for participation in the promotion games , where he prevailed against SV Elversberg , the runner-up in the Regionalliga Südwest .
Relegation to the Oberliga Nordost Due to the Zwickau promotion to the third division, two clubs were relegated at the end of the season.
