The district court Moosburg was 1329-1862 Bavarian high- and low court for parts of the territory of present-day counties Freising , Kelheim , Landshut and Oberpfaffenhofen . The seat of the regional court was not in the center of the district, but on its southeastern edge.

history

Moosburg gained its importance through the St. Kastulus Monastery and the growing influence of the Wittelsbachers in the region since the 13th century. In the early days, the seat of the court often changed between Inkofen , where a court seat has been mentioned in the first land register since 1230 , and Moosburg. The regional court belonged to the Lower Bavarian region , the Amper and the western border of the regional court district divided the partial duchies of Lower Bavaria and Upper Bavaria. In the third land register in 1329, the district court was first mentioned as the district court of Moosburg. It consisted of the Inkofen office with the Reichertshausen henchman office , the goods of the Moosburger Kastulus monastery , parts of the Wittelsbacher Vogtei , the county of Grünberg and the " Haus Isareck " and the associated property. From 1395 to 1447 Inkofen was once again the permanent seat of the court. In 1448 the ducal Inkofen Castle and the associated goods were sold to the Pullingers as Hofmark . The seat of the court was therefore finally relocated to Moosburg. The Moosburg City Office was added in the 15th century. The scope of the offices and rulership of Isareck can be seen for the first time from the tax book of 1465. In 1474 the henchman offices were changed to chairmen. The division of chairpersons and offices only became permanent from 1538. Since the middle of the 16th century, the Wolnzach nursing and maleficence court was assigned to the Moosburg regional court. In 1591 the rule of Isareck was added to the rule of jurisdiction.

In 1808 the district court of Moosburg was assigned to the Isar district , which was named Upper Bavaria in 1837 . On July 11, 1841, the tax districts Güntersdorf, Sünzhausen and Schweitenkirchen were assigned to the Pfaffenhofen Regional Court . On August 8, 1857, 15 northern communities were assigned to the Mainburg district court . The regional courts in the Kingdom of Bavaria as judicial and administrative authorities were absorbed into the district offices in administrative terms in 1862. The remainder of the administrative responsibilities of the Moosburg Regional Court went to the Freising District Office . The remaining judicial institutions in Moosburg initially retained the name of the regional court. As the initial instance of the lower jurisdiction, the previous regional courts were renamed uniformly in 1879 by the Courts Constitution Act in the district court .
