Klarsreuti , Swiss German Chloorsrüüti or Chlarsrüüti , is a former municipality and a village in the municipality of Birwinken in the Weinfelden district of the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland . Klarsreuti is located on the southern slope of the Seerücken northeast of Berg .

Parish before the merger in 1995

Klarsreuti formed a local parish of the former municipality of Birwinken until 1994 . On January 1, 1995 , the former municipality merged as part of the Thurgau municipality reform to form the political municipality of Birwinken.

history

Agriculture is still the most important industry in Klarsreuti.

The place was first mentioned in 1270 as Ruti and in 1507 as Klarersrutti . In the 13th century, the Feldbach monastery in Klarsreuti appeared as the landowner. From the late Middle Ages to 1798, Klarsreuti was one of the so-called high courts that were directly subordinate to the federal governor in Thurgau.

According to Langrickenbach, the predominantly Reformed village was always ecclesiastical and ecclesiastically shared the fate of this parish .

Arable farming and fruit growing were the predominant forms of economy, and weaving was added in the 19th century. Around 1900 there was mechanical embroidery in Klarsreuti, but it did not exist in the village, which is located off the beaten track. In addition to the Oswaldhof, which has been run according to biodynamic principles since 1930 - the first in Switzerland - conventionally operated agriculture with dairy farming, arable farming and fruit growing has asserted itself as the most important branch of business up to the present day.
