Buchackern , Buuaggere in Swiss German , is a village in the municipality of Erlen , Weinfelden district in the Swiss canton of Thurgau . From 1803 to 1994 the local community of Buchackern belonged to the then municipal community of Erlen . On January 1, 1995, the former local parish was incorporated into the Erlen community .
The farming village of Buchackern is located away from the traffic routes on the ridge south of the Aachtal .
history
1303 First mentioned as Buchaker . From the Middle Ages to 1798, most of Buchackern belonged to the Lower Court of Heldswil , which, as part of the Bürglen rule, was under the city of St. Gallen from 1579 . Around 1440 there is evidence of a Buchackern cantonal bailiwick, which is also civil in England; individual houses belonged to the episcopal-Constance rule of Oberaach . Buchackern originally belonged to the parish of Sulgen . Since the Reformed Church of Erlen was built in 1764, the predominantly Reformed residents of Buchackern have attended church services in Erlen, Century gradually and 1992 definitely broke out of the branch relationship with Sulgen.
In the 19th century, grain, fruit and vine growing as well as a cotton weaving were operated. Around 1900 embroidery and a cheese factory were added. In the 20th century, dairy farming, cattle breeding and intensive fruit growing still dominate. In 1990, 66% of the workforce worked in the first economic sector , 61% were commuters.

Of the total of 176 inhabitants in the village of Buchackern in 2018, 15 or 8.5% were foreign nationals. 68 (38.6%) were Protestant Reformed and 46 (26.1%) were Roman Catholic.

The farmhouse at Eppishauserstrasse 8 is included in the list of cultural assets in Erlen .
