Leutmerken is a parish village in the political municipality of Amlikon-Bissegg in the Weinfelden district of the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland . Leutmerken was a municipality from 1803 to 1816 with the local communities Griesenberg , Amlikon , Bissegg and Strohwilen .

history

Leutmerken is mentioned in 814 (?) As Liutmarinhchova . The name Leutmerken comes from Liutmar, who was the first to settle in the area. In the middle of the 12th century the barons of Bussnang and later the barons of Griesenberg are documented as owners of Leutmerkens. The church set was owned by Reichenau Abbey , which gave the collature to the judge and the slope to the pastor. In 1275 there was a deanery in Leutmerken.
