Allocation of seats in the National Parliament of East Timor
(as of May 2008)

This list shows the MPs who were elected to the National Parliament of East Timor in the elections on July 7, 2012 . The order corresponds to the MP's place on the party list. The parliament has 65 members. It first met on July 30, 2012.

The strongest force is the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense (CNRT) with 30 seats, followed by FRETILIN with 25 seats, the Partido Democrático (PD) with eight seats and the Frenti-Mudança with two seats. CNRT, PD and FM originally formed the governing coalition. However, with the government reshuffle in February 2015, all parties in parliament are now involved in government.

MEPs who were elected but left parliament prematurely or did not take office are crossed out in the list. This applies, for example, to all members of the government who by law have to give up their seat in parliament in favor of a replacement from the list. If a member of the government leaves the cabinet, he or she can return to parliament and the successor loses his mandate.

Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense CNRT

36.66% of the vote, 30 MPs.

As Prime Minister, Xanana Gusmão had to give up his seat in parliament in 2012 according to the constitution. The same was true of Dionísio Babo, who became minister. With the cabinet reshuffle in 2015, Gusmão resigned as prime minister, but became a minister in the new cabinet. Babo became Minister of State. On January 30, 2015, the MP Mateus de Jesus died. Manuel Salsinha took his seat. The MP José da Silva Panão died in August 2015 and Pedro dos Mártires da Costa in 2017 . Maria de Fátima ICC Belo moved up for Panão, but no one for Costa due to the upcoming election.

Vicente da Silva Guterres was President of Parliament from 2012 to 2016. After his resignation on May 5th, his previous deputy Adérito Hugo da Costa was elected as his successor. Ângela Corvelo and Maria Fernanda Lay are secretaries of the Presidium. Natalino dos Santos Nascimento is group leader, his deputy Domingas Álves da Silva.

Party leader Francisco Guterres and General Secretary Marí Alkatiri waived their seats in parliament in favor of FRETILIN members who were further down the electoral list. During the government reshuffle in 2015, Estanislau da Silva became minister and Inácio Moreira became vice minister and had to give up their parliamentary seat. Alkatiri then took over his seat again and Francisco de Andrade slipped into parliament as a successor. Aniceto Guterres Lopes is the group leader and Francisco Miranda Branco is his deputy.

Of the eight elected representatives of the PD, four were given government offices, which is why they had to give up their seats in parliament: Fernando de Araújo became Deputy Prime Minister, Mariano Sabino Lopes and António da Conceição Minister and Samuel Mendonça State Secretary. In addition, Jacob Xavier died shortly after the election , so that a total of five PD members moved up from the electoral list in Parliament. Adriano do Nascimento became Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Angelina Machado de Jesus Secretary of the Parliament's Bureau , Lurdes Maria Bessa parliamentary group leader and Adriano João her deputy. During the cabinet reshuffle in February 2015, Sabino left the government but did not return to parliament.

After the election, José Luís Guterres and Jorge da Conceição Teme received ministerial posts in the fifth government and therefore had to give up their parliamentary seats under the constitution. In the cabinet reshuffle on February 16, 2015, both lost their offices. Teme and Guterres returned to parliament, so that both successors Maria Adozinda Pires da Silva and Benvinda Catarina Rodrigues had to vacate their seats again. Guterres became the leader of the parliamentary group, Teme his deputy.
