This list shows the MPs who were elected to the East Timorese Constituent Assembly in the 2001 elections, which were sworn in on September 15, 2001 and first met on September 17. With the restoration of the country's independence on May 20, 2002, the assembly was converted into a national parliament. The parliament had 88 members, 13 of whom were directly elected representatives of the districts. Its legislative term ended in 2007 with the regular elections on June 30, 2007 .

Francisco Lu Olo Guterres became President of Parliament, Arlindo Marçal (PDC, until 2002) and Francisco Xavier do Amaral (ASDT) were Deputy Presidents. Jacob Fernandes (FRETILIN) became the second deputy. The parliamentary secretariat was held by FRETILIN MPs António Tilman Cepeda (Secretary), Judite Dias Ximenes (Vice) and Maria Teresa Hono Lay Correia (Vice). They were replaced on June 25, 2002 by Francisco Carlos Soares (Secretary), Maria Terezinha Viegas (Vice) and Rosária Corte-Real (Vice). When Corte-Real became Vice Minister in September 2002, Maria Avalziza Lourdes replaced her in the Presidium as Vice Secretary .

MPs who were members of the Constituent Assembly are marked with a “(V)”. The names of members of parliament who left parliament during the legislative period (for example because they took over government office) are crossed out. "(N)" stands behind the names of successors. The order of the nominations corresponds to the position on the party list for the elections. The direct candidates are then listed. Behind their names is the name of the district they represent.

Frente Revolucionária do Timor-Leste Independente FRETILIN

57.37% of the vote, twelve district MPs, a total of 55 MPs.

Several elected members of the assembly had to give up their seats shortly after the first day of the meeting, as they were sworn in as members of the government on September 20. The list of members of FRETILIN from 2007 only includes 54 members. It is possible that a seat remained vacant shortly before the next regular elections.
