The Obere Nebelseen nature reserve is a 499  hectare nature reserve in Mecklenburg .

Location and importance

Malkwitz lake

It was designated on June 12, 1996 with the aim of preserving the headwaters of the Nebel with near-natural and scenic fen areas , lakes and extensive dry sites. The lakes Hofsee , Kraazer See and Malkwitzer See are in the nature reserve.

The nature reserve is part of the FFH area Nebeltal with tributaries, connected lakes and adjacent forests .
